DJ Riel plays mashups and house music, comments on technology, consumes visual stimulants and manufactures content for projects in a variety of mediums.
Some of his more memorable projects include The Victory, and 328 W. Hastings, both long running afterhours clubs in downtown Vancouver. He also created the , now a voip telephone service, it started it's life as a credit card style membership system that helped propel the vancouver rave scene from small warehouse and banquet hall parties, into taking over arenas and shopping malls to do massive events, all tracked, sold, reported on with magnetic strip cards.
Musically his influences are all over the board, from Plastik Man and the detroit techno sound, including lisa shaw and the "naked" crew for their deep house sounds... all the way to Phewgoo and Mark Viddler for their new interpretations of classic Music.
Riel is more than a DJ, planning every aspect of a performance from sound scape, to visual impact, marketing presence through flyer and website design... but also including video promo's, flash elements and highly polished productions of interactive voice responce telephone promotions.
